Louisdale, known as, “The Heart of Richmond County”, is nicely located on Seal Cove which is a beautiful, sheltered cove in the middle of St. Peter’s Bay and Isle Madame. First settled by Scottish farmers and French Acadian fisherman in the mid 1800's, Louisdale is now a vibrant community hosting two schools, the Richmond Arena and numerous businesses and associations.

Traditional names, such as, Marchand, Joyce, Burns, Boudreau, Landry, Burke, Jeffery, Linden, Poirier, Goyetche, Sam(p)son, and LeBlanc are prominent.

Louisdalers have a great sense of community and are grounded in their faith, often known to come together in times of trial and tribulation and celebration as well. Festivals and events, such as, Baraco Days and Louisdale Fall Fair are hosted annually and are well attended by locals and tourists alike.
Make Louisdale a must on your next drive through Richmond County!
